CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) – A Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on DUI charges and is on paid leave.
Sgt. Michael Choi, a 10 year veteran of the department, was arrested by deputies in neighboring Arapahoe County early Tuesday morning and his criminal case is being handled there.
Choi’s department has launched a separate internal investigation. Spokesman Ron Hanavan said the allegations are “serious.”
“We hold employees to a very high standard and this accusation is very concerning to us. We are taking this very seriously,” he said.
Choi was most recently a patrol sergeant with the department.
